We are situated at the foot of the Preseli Mountains in mid Pembrokeshire. The farm of 215 acres is south facing and therefore we are blessed with sunshine most of the summer, but the autumn and winter months are different with the wind and the rain in our face.

The farm has some history, it pocesses of a Holy Well St. Brynach, the water from this source feeds all the farm and house requirements.

We purchased the farm some twenty years ago, and decided to concentrate on the suckler herd and sheep production. We had numerous breeds of cattle but one breed that stood out for production and longer life was the Welsh Black breed. It was therefore the natural choice when increasing to go some pedigree cattle. Therefore the SYFNI herd was established in early part of 1990 and decided to go pedigree and register in 1999.

Our ambition was to produce top quality show and commercial cattle, to achieve this, it was necessary to purchase and breed from the best.

After showing succesfully since the year 2000, it has to be said that 2006 was outstanding, winning four first prizes at The Royal Show, and three firsts at the Royal Welsh. The icing on the cake must have been, our home bred two year old heifer Syfni Gwenno 4th winning the Female of the year, and our own bull Syfni ap Rhys being awarded the reserve Bull of the year.

The success was to continue into 2007, taking four animals to the Royal and receiving five first prize, then to The Royal Welsh winning four firsts, a second and two third, and reserve champion bull.

Two of our heifers were included in the team of five, that went on to win the overall interbreed beef group of five.
